Future Plans
Public Lectures and Discussion Groups
Chesterton House already has an established series of public lectures that brings leading Christian scholars in every field to the Cornell campus, and a number of small discussion groups on topics such as Faith & Science, and Faith & the Environment. Future plans include continuing to build on the lecture series, and adding discussion groups in the arts and humanities.
Classes for Credit
One of the primary goals of the Chesterton House ministry is to make credit classes in theology available in Ithaca for the first time. We are currently speaking with several seminaries about collaborations, and seeking funding for this important program initiative.
Spiritual Formation
As a means of increasing the support we provide to the several undergraduate and graduate fellowships at Cornell, our plan is to implement a Spiritual Formation program that will provide more speakers and resources available to Christian students participating in these fellowships.
Web Resources
Our current website includes information on upcoming events, audio of past events, and information on recently published aarticles as well as links to other resources of interest. In the next version of our webpage, we will have an extensive electronic library listing thousands of books by Christian scholars, as well as extensive book reviews.
Alumni Programming
In an effort to make the resources and expertise of the Chesterton House ministry more accessible to alumni, and to facilitate networking among Christian alumni of Cornell, we plan to hold occasional events specifically for alumni, both in Ithaca and in the greater New York area. If you are interested in supporting Chesterton House and would like to see a copy of our recently adopted Strategic Plan, please contact Director Karl Johnson at karl@chestertonhouse.org.
