The Chesterton House and Sophia House residences for men and women provide a Christian residential alternative to campus residence halls and Greek houses. We are now taking applications for 2012-2013. More info here.

We are very pleased to announce our first named lecture, the Alan T. and Linda M. Beimfohr Lecture, which will be given by University of Florida historian C. John Sommerville. This lecture is a gift of Carl '76 and Elaine Neuss of Laguna Niguel, CA, in honor of the Beihmfors' longtime commitment to Cornell.

The Chesterton House board is working on a strategic plan to identify goals for the next 3-5 years, and we are eager for your input. All responses are confidential. Your responses will be reviewed by the board prior to our planning retreat later this month, and will inform our discussion and identification of strategic priorities. This survey will be open until Thursday, Sept. 15th at midnight.

Students and Parents: To learn more about Chesterton House, take advantage of one or both of the following opportunities:

1) Drop in to Chesterton House on Move-in Day, Friday, Aug. 19th, 1pm - 4pm. We have a wonderful residential facility with huge common areas, a great library, and views of Cayuga Lake! James Pothen, Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs, will be there to greet you. See Map & Directions.

Although we are still waiting for the dust to settle on our fiscal year-end numbers, June was our single strongest month in ten years of ministry, and we anticipate finishing the year "in the black."

On Tuesday, August 2nd, Chesterton House Director Karl Johnson will speak at The Falls Church in Falls Church, VA.

The talk will be aimed at students and parents thinking about college and the challenges entailed in sustaining faith during the college years.  More details will be posted soon.
