Nicholas Wolterstorff, a leading Christian philosopher and author of several books and articles on Christianity and higher education, will give three talks:
- How the University Has Changed in my Lifetime
- Thinking with a Christian Mind and Speaking with a Christian Voice in the Contemporary University
- Some How-to-do-it's.
In addition to his notable work as a
premier Christian philosopher, Nicholas Wolterstorff has become a
leading voice on faith-based higher education. This conference will
explore the themes of his book by the same title, Educating for Shalom: Essays on Christian Higher Education.
This volume includes nineteen essays by Wolterstoff and other leading
thinkers dealing with the purpose of Christian higher education and the
nature of academic learning, integrated throughout by the biblical idea of shalom. Educating for Shalom recently garnered the inaugural (2006) Lilly Fellows Program Book Award.
Sponsored by InterVarsity Graduate / Faculty ministries, Chesterton House, and Protestant Cooperative Ministries.
